This year’s convention will include an optional golf outing at the adjacent Foxfire Golf Club, a silent auction, and some simple ways to help conventioneers mix and mingle. In an attempt to be better stewards of God’s resources, this convention will be almost exclusively electronic in communication, registration, and publications. Online registration is by individuals and based on a unique, personal email address. If you share an email address with another delegate or do not have your own email address, please use a a fake e-mail of YOURNAME@diofdl.org to register. You will not receive an e-mail confirmation, but can contact to Diocesan Office to confirm. All participants, whether delegates, guests, or exhibitors, must register and are urged to do so as soon as possible. Convention Fees Fee Fee After Oct. 11th Both Days, All Meals $60.00 $70.00 Friday Only, Including Banquet $35.00 $45.00 Saturday Only, Saturday Meals $25.00 $35.00 Registration Only, No Meals $10.00 $20.00 Fees may be paid online by credit card or by check sent to the Diocesan Office once online registration is complete. To ensure on-site registration runs smoothly, all fees should be paid BEFORE arrival at convention (except for Display Table fees which will be billed following the Convention). Late Registrants will pay an additional fee after October 11th. Where: Convention activities, both Friday and Saturday take place at the Waupaca Ale House which is located at 201 Foxfire Drive on the southwest side of Waupaca, Wisconsin. When: 4:00 pm, Friday, October 22nd through 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 23rd, 2010. Those who wish may also participate in the oprional golf outing on Friday before the convention (see below). We offer heartfelt thanks to the people of St. Mark's, Waupaca for hosting this year's convention. Hotel: Conventioneers must make their own housing arrangements. A block of rooms has been guaranteed for “Diocese of Fond du Lac” at the Comfort Suites Foxfire. To reserve a room at a $65 rate call (715) 942-0500 and identify yourself as being with the “Diocese of Fond du Lac”. Rooms include a complimentary breakfast. To avoid room tax, your congregation must submit its Wisconsin Tax Exemption Certificate prior to arrival. Guaranteed room and rate availability deadline is Thursday, September 23rd. After that date, rate and availability are not guaranteed. No arrangements have been made with other hotels. Pre-Convention Deanery Meetings: Every delegate is expected to attend one pre-convention meeting which is vital to the functioning of convention since explanation of processes and content are provided. Thursday, September 23rd, 6:30-8:30, Lake Winnebago Deanery, Cathedral of St. Paul, Fond du Lac Tuesday, September 28th, 6:30-8:30, Northwoods Deanery, St. Augustine's, Rhinelander Thursday, September 30th, 6:30-8:30, Green Bay Deanery, Blessed Sacrament, Green Bay Saturday, October 2nd, 10am-12noon Pre-Convention Teleconference. To sign-up for this teleconference, send an email with you name and date of teleconference to convention@diofdl.org. Instructions for participation will be emaile about 1 week before. Tuesday, October 5th, 6:30-8:30, Wisconsin River Deanery, Intercession, Stevens Point Thursday, October 7th, 7-9pm Pre-Convention Teleconference. To sign-up for this teleconference, send an email with you name and date of teleconference to convention@diofdl.org. Instructions for participation will be emaile about 1 week before. Displays: Congregations, individuals, and entities are invited to have display tables for a small fee. Reservations for display tables are made through online registration and are available on a first come, first served basis. Due to space, we must limit the number of tables so reserve early to save your spot. Displays may be set-up at as early as 3pm on Friday afternoon. Silent Auction: (an opportunity to benefit the “Bishop’s Pentecost Appeal”) Friday of the convention will include a Silent Auction which will take open at 4pm and close when dinner starts. This is offered as an opportunity for each congregation to share something about themselves in a fun way and raise funds for the Bishop’s Pentecost Appeal. Names of winning bidders will be announced at the end of the meal so items may be collected and payments made as you leave. The Silent Auction Coordinator will contact each congregation requesting an item to be donated. Due to space available, only one (1) item per congregation is needed. If more are offered, they will be placed in reserve in case space becomes available. Items donated may be delivered upon arrival at the convention. Golfing: (optional and weather permitting) Conventioneers are welcome to golf together for 18 or 9 holes at Foxfire Golf Course, next to the Waupaca Ale House. Those golfing 18 will begin at 10am with the first 9, break for lunch, then play the final 9. Those golfing 9 may eat lunch then play. This will be relaxed golfing with no games or challenges (beyond those in the course), but simply a time to enjoy fellowship . You will be responsible for paying your own fees and your lunch. If you plan to golf, please RSVP convention@diofdl.org to indicate whether you plan for 18 or 9 holes so we can advise the golf club to reserve tee times.
